Ponkan is memorizing Multiplication from Table 1 to 9 because it is included in his exam. My son is only in grade one and I remember we tackle multiplication lesson when I was Grade 2 already.The curriculum for elementary student nowadays is really advanced although I appreciate he's learning to multiply this early. He's having a hard time understanding the method at first that's why I taught him some techniques so aside from memorization he knew how the product was obtained.
