No Smoking

July first marked the official start of the Anti-Smoking campaign of the government.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority launched one month information campaign regarding this matter last June. And they have apprehended 249 violators yesterday.

First time offenders will have to pay 500 pesos fine. For the second offense and third offense, fine may reached up to P10,000. But those who cant pay the fine will be subjected to do community service instead.

The No Smoking Zones are
1) Hospitals
2) Public Terminals
3) Government Offices and Vehicles
4) City Establishments and City Roads

This campaign aims to attain a Smoke-free community and curb the effects of second hand smoke.
